Follow the on-screen directions to install Pocket TV Manager on your PC, and Pocket TV Browser for your device. 2. Operation The installation wizard will help you select a channel line-up for your area and prepare Pocket TV Manger for its first TV listings download. NOTE: If you sign up for listings through Evolve Solutions (www.guideremote.com), most of your listing selection/configuration will be done on the www.guideremote.com web site, rather than in Pocket TV Manager. Once your listings have finished downloading, they're converted automatically into a Pocket TV Browser database and synchronized with your device, where you can now experience Pocket TV Browser's blazing speed and ease-of-use! Go to http://www.doublebit.com and click on the "Pocket TV Browser" link for an overview. Built-in help is also provided with both programs. 3. Uninstallation Remove Pocket TV Browser from your handheld just as you would remove any other handheld program. For example, on a Pocket PC: . Tap Settings on the Start menu . Tap "Remove Programs" on the Settings tab . Select the entry named "DoubleBit Software: Pocket TV Browser" . Tap Remove Or, if your device is connected to your PC, you can open Microsoft ActiveSync, click on the Tools menu, and select Add/Remove Programs. Remove Pocket TV Manager from your PC as follows: . Shut down Pocket TV Manager (right-click the TV taskbar icon, then Exit) . Run "Add/Remove Programs" from the Control Panel . Select the entry named "Pocket TV Manager" . Click Remove 4. Revision History Version 1.77: Fixed a synchronization problem with newer versions of the Palm Desktop, and added support for the Treo 600/650 navigator button. Version 1.76: Added support for recent changes in Zap2it's XMLTV output. Version 1.75: Added support for newer XMLTV grabbers. Version 1.72: Added support for finer-grained TV schedules from Evolve Solutions. Version 1.71: Modified the software trial period message, restored support for "repeat" showings, and identified back-to-back showings of the same program as separate shows. Version 1.70 (Build 04): Fixed an input problem on the Ratings Filter screen, added support for the 5-way navigator button on Palm OS5 devices, and increased the maximum number of channel name characters from 7 to 8. Version 1.70 (Build 01): Re-released Pocket TV Browser on Handango's web site as an "unlimited trial", with more releases coming soon (PalmGear, PocketGear, etc). Version 1.65: Fixed listings transitioning from Daylight Savings Time. Version 1.64: Added support for episode and actors names in Evolve's listings. Fixed display of the "Year" column in the "Program List" view. Enabled support for "Days in database" and "Include details for" on the "Detail" tab, for both Evolve or XMLTV listings. Made improvements in XMLTV listing support: allows +/- time deltas, displays XMLTV output in the Pocket TV Manager Status window (if either "Details" or "Warnings" is checked), allows the XMLTV download process to be stopped, and supports channel renumbering/renaming. Version 1.63: Added support for XMLTV listings. However, the XMLTV utility is not distributed with Pocket TV Browser, and any assistance with XMLTV listing support will be provided ONLY on the "XMLTV for Pocket TV Browser" forum at http://www.doublebit.com/forums and STRICTLY on an "as time permits" basis. We cannot guarantee continued operation or support for free listings. To enable support for XMLTV listings, download the XMLTV.EXE utility and place it in your Pocket TV Browser folder. You can get the latest version of XMLTV.EXE from http://sourceforge.net/projects/xmltv. Click on the "Files" link and look for the latest release of XMLTV. Currently, that is xmltv-0.5.19-win32.zip. Extract XMLTV.EXE from that ZIP file and copy it to your desktop PC's Pocket TV Browser folder (normally "C:\Program Files\Pocket TV Browser"). After you have enabled support, you should be able to add new XMLTV listings on the Listings tab. Power users can customize how it works, and even add XMLTV support for areas outside North America, by modifying the default XMLTV configurations in PTVManager.ini. Version 1.62: Fixed a problem with original airdate display in the Palm browser. Added support for renumbering (and renaming) channels in Evolve's listings. You have to download your listings first, before Pocket TV Manager will know which channels are available. Added "Use IE settings" to the Performance tab, so that people who need to bypass Internet Explorer's network/proxy settings can do so, by unchecking this checkbox. Version 1.61: Added "Provide TVGL Compatibility" option on Pocket TV Manager's "Detail" tab to provide backward-compatibility with the TV Grid Listings (TVGL) application. This option will disable new Pocket TV Browser features, such as the display of original air-dates. TV Grid Listings is not a DoubleBit Software product, it is no longer being updated, and we cannot guarantee future support. Note that you must also have a valid Pocket TV Browser registration code, and that you must have already entered it using the "Register" button on Pocket TV Manager's "Other" tab. Even though registration codes are no longer issued or required for Pocket TV Browser (Version 1.xx only), it is still required as a "proof of purchase" in order to use Pocket TV Browser with other purchased software, including TV Grid Listings. Version 1.60: First version to support listings via subscription service provided by Evolve Solutions (www.guideremote.com) 5.
