Pocket TV Browser

Downloading TV Listings

Since most handheld devices do not have an Internet connection, we've created a companion program, Pocket TV Manager, to download TV listings from the Internet and transfer them to your device.  Pocket TV Manager is designed to be able to download listings from a variety of web sites.  Go to the Listings tab and click the "Add" button to see the list of current listing providers.

The companion program, Pocket TV Manager, is included with Pocket TV Browser, it must be installed on the same PC that you also synchronize your handheld device with, and that PC needs to be connected to the Internet.  Pocket TV Manager allows you to schedule automatic periodic downloads (for example, every 3 days), as well as initiate downloads manually.

When you install Pocket TV Browser, a wizard for Pocket TV Manager is started, to help you select the appropriate channel line-ups (e.g., cable, satellite, broadcast) based on your location (zip code, country, etc), and channel package.  After you finish the wizard, you can start downloading listings immediately, or add more line-ups first, in case you receive a combination of channels from different providers.

Previewing TV Listings

Included with Pocket TV Manager is a feature called Virtual Pocket PC, which allows you to preview the most recently download set of TV listings on your PC, by running a simulation of Pocket TV Browser.  You can use this feature even if you don't have a real Pocket PC.  The Virtual Pocket PC is not intended to look or function exactly like any particular device, due to differences between the PC and Pocket PC operating systems, but it should appear very similar.
