Installation is simple. After you have downloaded the self-extracting Pocket TV Manager utility to your desktop PC, it will help you install the Pocket TV Browser software onto your handheld, and then Pocket TV Manager's built-in Listing Wizard will walk you through the listing set-up process.

Normally, if you already have an older version of Pocket TV Browser installed, you can simply install the new version on top of it. However, because of significant changes in Version 1.70, we do recommend in this case that you uninstall the previous version first.

Once Pocket TV Manager has been set up and you've downloaded your first batch of listings, you can either allow it to periodically download your listings on a regular basis (see the Schedule tab), or you can perform the downloads manually. Then every time you synchronize your handheld, if new listings have been downloaded, they will be transferred to your device.

Registration

Pocket TV Browser (Version 1.xx) is a fully-functional TV listings browser. Registration is optional. However, depending on the listing service you choose, you may need to purchase a listing subscription, which is payable directly to the listing service, not DoubleBit Software. If you sign up for listings from Evolve Solutions, you'll get listings free for two weeks, after which there's a $10 annual subscription fee, payable to Evolve.

If you haven't already purchased a registration code for Pocket TV Browser, go back to the site you downloaded it from to complete your purchase, or go to our Donation page and click the "Make a Donation" button. Your personal Registration Code will be emailed to you after you complete your purchase/donation.

Go to the desktop PC you installed Pocket TV Manager on, and start Pocket TV Manager if it's not already started. Either click the "TV" icon on your taskbar, or look for the Pocket TV Manager shortcut on your Start Menu.

If you're a Pocket PC user, connect your device to your PC now, so that when you enter your registration code, Pocket TV Manager can automatically transfer registration to Pocket TV Browser. You can connect your device later if necessary, but it's best to do it now, so that you don't forget.

Now click the "Help" button in the Pocket TV Manager window, then the "About..." button, and finally the "Register..." button. The "About" box can also be accessed by right-clicking the "TV" icon on your taskbar and selecting "About..." from the menu.

If you don't see a "Register..." button, then you're probably running an old version. Visit our Download page to get the latest version.

Enter your registration code and click OK. If you use a Pocket PC and it was connected at the time, your code should be transferred to your device automatically. If your device was not connected, then it should be transferred the next time Pocket TV Manager detects a connection. If not, try connecting your device, opening Pocket TV Manager, and clicking the "Register..." button again. It won't ask you for your registration code again, but it should make sure your code has been transferred.
